NetApp has inaugurated its new offices in the emblematic Torre de Cristal in Madrid. After 25 years of consolidation in the Spanish market, the organization has established in this enclave a renewed space for its operations as a hub that, from the Spanish capital, develops innovative data-based projects for public and private organizations throughout the NetApp EEMI region (Iberia, Latin America, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa).
During the inauguration event, the company took stock of the year, highlighting the growth of the business among new clients, the consolidation of its leadership in all-flash technologies, the growth of projects linked to AI and the cloud and its positioning as a guarantor of data security and sovereignty from the storage layer.
“We are entering a new stage of transformation of organizations, driven by AI, in which they need to govern, protect and activate their data assets for artificial intelligence. With NetApp’s intelligent data infrastructure, companies no longer have to choose between on-premise, private cloud or hyperscalar, but can decide which loads to run in each environment and have them all work together to activate the data and convert it into value,” explains Maite Ramos, general director of NetApp Iberia.
Activate large volumes of unstructured data
One of the main business drivers for NetApp, both globally and in Spain, has been AI. As enterprise adoption accelerates, the main challenge has shifted from computing power to how to activate large volumes of unstructured data. “Many artificial intelligence projects continue to fail because they try to move too quickly without first preparing their infrastructure and data assets,” explains Maite Ramos.
Another of the multinational’s important bets has been cyber resilience. “The rise of AI is increasing the exposure of business data and, at NetApp, we are turning our storage platforms into the last line of defense against cybercriminals,” says Manel Picalló, technical director of NetApp Iberia.
NetApp Ransomware Resilience offers a comprehensive ransomware defense solution, enabling customers to minimize the impact of an attack and return to normal business operations quickly and easily.
Leading the hybrid cloud era through data
NetApp remains the only storage leader with a truly hybrid data infrastructure and strategic alliances with leading hyperscalers. Your services
Native first-party storage across the big three public clouds allows customers to protect, mobilize and govern their data with flexibility and consistency, regardless of where it resides. This capability is increasingly critical as public and private organizations scale their AI initiatives. NetApp is also expanding its presence in the neocloud and hyperscaler ecosystem.
With NetApp intelligent data infrastructure, businesses no longer have to choose between on-premise, private cloud, or hyperscale
“One of the objectives of our collaboration with hyperscalars is that companies can take advantage of the advantages of the public cloud while maintaining control and governance of their data,” explains the general director of NetApp Iberia. “In this context, NetApp’s ability to activate its customers’ data assets securely and efficiently in hybrid and multicloud environments is a significant advantage, backed by its more than 30 years of innovation in these environments.”
