SAP Spain and Altim have modernized the technological platform of the company Plásticas Durex, an industrial company specialized in the manufacturing of plastic products. With the technological adoption process, Durex has completed the migration of its technological platform to SAP S/4HANA with the aim of modernizing its operations, reducing the complexity of its technological environment and having a base prepared to face business challenges in the coming years.
The company, with a consolidated international history, used SAP ECC as a management platform for its finance, purchasing, sales, logistics and cost control processes. However, the approaching end of SAP ECC standard maintenance, scheduled for 2027, represented an opportunity to address technological evolution with planning and without the pressure of a last-minute mandatory migration.
Beyond responding to a technological need, Plasticos Durex conceived this project as a strategic initiative to modernize its platform, simplify the custom developments accumulated over the years, improve the user experience and lay the foundations to progressively incorporate new innovation capabilities, including artificial intelligence solutions such as Joule and SAP Business AI. These were the reasons why I chose SAP’s offer again.
Ensure change management
To carry out this transformation, the company trusted Altim as a technological partner. The migration was planned in such a way that all parameterization and historical data of the system could be preserved, thus minimizing the impact that the process could have on the company’s daily activity. The project, developed over nine months, divided into three cycles, culminated in a complete training plan for users that guaranteed change management.
Thanks to this technological evolution, Plasticos Durex now has a more modern, sustainable and future-ready platform. Among the main benefits are a new user experience through SAP Fiori, accessible from any device, which improves productivity and facilitates adoption throughout the organization; access to real-time analytical capabilities on SAP HANA; the reduction of technical debt associated with customized developments and a platform prepared to continuously incorporate new innovation and artificial intelligence capabilities.
