CaixaBank has expanded the agreement it has signed with Google Cloud, to strengthen its technological capabilities in key areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), data management, data analytics and cloud infrastructure. Building on an alliance established in 2023, the expanded agreement, which extends the collaboration until 2033, will increase the entity’s adoption of cloud and AI technologies, and accelerate the development of tools aimed at improving the operational decision making of its employees, while improving the personalization of products and services for its millions of customers.
As part of the new agreement, CaixaBank will deploy Gemini Enterprise, Google Cloud’s AI platform to create, govern and deploy agents. These agents will allow CaixaBank teams to synthesize complex financial information, automate routine tasks and optimize daily workflows.
To support CaixaBank’s strategic objectives, the expanded collaboration will focus on three key pillars:
- Data analytics and agentic AI: CaixaBank will convert large data repositories into useful information. Using Gemini Enterprise, teams will deploy specialized AI agents to streamline document management, classification and summarization of complex content, accelerating internal decision-making.
- Hybrid infrastructure and security: CaixaBank will combine its private environment with the secure infrastructure of Google Cloud to improve the resilience of the systems, the scalability and the availability of services to adapt to future growth. The deployment also adds advanced threat detection and security monitoring capabilities under CaixaBank’s strict governance and responsible AI frameworks.
- Training and training of teams: The program also covers specialized professional services, collaboration initiatives and training courses to facilitate the adoption of new technological capabilities and the training of teams. The work will be under the governance of CaixaBank and its security, privacy and responsible AI frameworks.
