Commvault has chosen Madrid as the European headquarters of “Velocity Sales”, its business unit specialized in the small and medium-sized business segment. The decision reinforces the strategic role of the Spanish capital in the company’s European presence and consolidates Madrid as a new center for the development of its business aimed at SMEs in different European markets.

The new facilities will represent an expansion of the current Commvault team in Madrid, with the hiring of young professionals who will work with a clear focus on sales and business development for SMEs. To form this new team, Commvault is looking for professionals with a university degree, command of English and a second language – Spanish, German, French or Italian – and a desire to develop a career in sales within the technology sector. Although it is not essential to have previous experience in IT, it is essential to have the desire and ability to learn, adapt and be agile in a sector that evolves at a dizzying pace, as well as a winning mentality.

Madrid, new European hub for Commvault Velocity

The opening of these facilities is part of Commvault’s strategy to bring its AI and cyber resilience solutions to the growing European SME market. Based in Madrid, the new team will work with various European markets, clients and teams. This structure will allow professionals to develop sales experience in a multicultural environment and gain a broad understanding of the technology business.

“Madrid brings together some of the elements we need to continue growing in Europe: young talent, linguistic diversity, a dynamic technological ecosystem and an increasingly relevant position as an international hub. With Velocity we want to take advantage of that potential and, at the same time, offer a new generation of professionals the opportunity to embark on an international career in a global technology company,” says Sergio López Chicheri, Country Manager of Commvault for Spain and Portugal.

With the choice of Madrid as Velocity’s European headquarters, Commvault joins the ranks of international companies, such as Amazon, Google or Nutanix, that are strengthening their presence in the Spanish capital to develop activities with a European scope.

Multilingual talent: a competitive advantage in the European labor market

Commvault’s commitment to multilingual professionals also reflects a growing trend in the European technology labor market: international companies increasingly need profiles capable of combining professional skills with the ability to communicate with clients and teams from different countries.

In this context, Madrid stands out as a particularly attractive environment for companies looking for talent with an international vocation. The city combines an important technological ecosystem with an increasingly international professional community, in addition to its connection with other European markets.

“For a young professional who wants to develop an international career, joining a team that is being created in Madrid now offers a particularly interesting opportunity: it is not just about occupying a position, but about being part of the construction of a new European team and growing with it,” adds López Chicheri.
