Adobe today announced new AI capabilities in Acrobat, powered by Adobe Productivity Agent, that help people and teams understand information in their documents faster, create curated materials more easily, and access trusted information at scale.
New interactive reports and summary slides turn dense documents into engaging visual content, while custom podcasts and audio summaries make it easy to listen, learn, and catch up from a single page or dozens of documents. New enterprise capabilities help teams ask questions about document collections and extract structured information from thousands of files, helping companies scale document knowledge and make better decisions.
Acrobat as a document productivity platform
Adobe invented PDF and Acrobat, which for three decades have been the standard that people and businesses rely on to communicate important information. Currently, more than 400 billion PDF files are opened in Acrobat each year. With Adobe Productivity Agent, the company is transforming Acrobat from a PDF tool to a document productivity platform where people can understand, create and share information in a single workflow. Adobe is also extending Acrobat’s leading capabilities to some of the world’s largest platforms, including ChatGPT, Claude, WhatsApp, Edge and Chrome, reaching billions of people right when they need them.
These innovations mark the next milestone in the evolution of Acrobat and transform the way people go from reading documents to identifying what really matters and acting on it with confidence. Adobe Productivity Agent works with documents, data, and systems to execute actions and coordinate everything so people can get information faster, generate rich content quickly, and share knowledge through interactive experiences. This is part of Adobe’s commitment to keeping people at the center of a future powered by artificial intelligence.
“Acrobat is already the place where millions of people go to read the information most important to them. Now it also allows them to understand it more quickly and completely, so they can act more wisely and achieve their goals,” said Abhigyan Modi, senior vice president of Adobe’s productivity products group. “We’re bringing together decades of document innovation into an experience that helps people learn faster, teams work more productively, and companies leverage the knowledge contained in their documents, all from one place.”
Understand documents faster
Acrobat’s new AI capabilities change the way people read documents and allow them to assimilate information faster and more completely, so they can arrive better prepared for any meeting, sales call or interview. The new capabilities help:
- Understand the most important information Turning dense documents into interactive visual content, including reports and summary slides that make key information easy to digest. Acrobat analyzes your files, asks clarifying questions to understand intent, and generates interactive reports with charts, images, and integrated navigation to quickly review or drill down into content. SMBs can turn business reports, growth plans, and financial statements into visual reports that help the entire team understand where the business stands. Marketing teams can summarize competitive insights, customer feedback, and research findings, while HR teams can turn survey and workforce data into easy-to-view reports for people managers.
- Listen and learn through personalized podcasts, audio summaries, and read-alouds, making it easy to understand documents from anywhere or on your desktop. People can embed documents or web links into a PDF Space and ask Acrobat to summarize the information into an engaging podcast. With new audio capabilities, a market analyst can pull together multiple research reports in Acrobat and turn them into a podcast in minutes to listen to on the go or while exercising.
- Expand access to knowledge among teams with Acrobat Knowledge Base, which allows teams to get answers pulled directly from trusted document collections, including PDF and Microsoft Office files, web pages, texts, and emails. Files are synced from SharePoint or Google Drive to keep information up to date. Sales teams can quickly access the information they need on their own from extensive libraries of business resources and identify the best approach for each opportunity just by asking.
- Extract structured data from thousands of documents with Acrobat Analyzer and convert unstructured data into structured information that finance, purchasing, operations, and IT teams can use to make informed decisions. For example, supplier management teams can use Analyzer to extract key information, terms and clauses from contracts and scope of work documents, and track their entire portfolio on things like automatic renewals, service level agreements (SLAs), inflation adjustments and reporting requirements. This allows them to base their decisions and reduce risks.
Convert documents into professional materials
Once people understand the content of their files, Acrobat helps them turn simple documents into professional-looking final materials with a single click. Acrobat’s new Stylize feature allows you to:
Improve resumes, invoices, reports and other documents, turning simple materials into professional, brand-aligned documents that increase the quality and impact of everyday work.
Create professional presentations that communicate the message clearly directly from the source documents.
With the new capabilities, anyone can add unattractive documents to Acrobat and choose from thousands of Adobe Express templates. AI instantly restructures the information in the selected template in real time, preserving the original content. Styling allows a small business to submit proposals as polished as larger competitors, or a job seeker to turn a simple resume into one that reflects the attention to detail the job requires.

Reliable document understanding with AI
From individual users to the largest businesses, Acrobat is designed to help people move from reading to understanding reliably, at any scale:
- AI designed specifically for PDF by the company that invented the format: Adobe AI is designed to understand documents with a level of precision that generalist tools are not designed for.
- Interactive quotes in each answer, so that people can verify the information and delve deeper into it without losing confidence in the result.
- Data from customer documents is not used to train Adobe’s generative AI models, which helps protect sensitive information.
- Enterprise-grade security and governance offer peace of mind to even the largest organizations when they expand the use of AI across documents.
Adobe is also helping to deepen learning in the classroom with Student Spaces in Acrobat, available now worldwide. Student Spaces launched in beta in April 2026 and has attracted more than one million monthly active users, who have generated study sheets, quizzes and study guides to understand and master its syllabi, as well as presentations to share individual and group projects.
An AI Assistant answers students’ questions, helps them break down complex topics, and provides clear explanations with interactive quotes that link directly to the source, so they can verify and trust each answer.
New Student Spaces capabilities let you add citations to class documents, easily digitize handwritten notes into personalized study tools, and instantly generate fact sheets. Beyond their studies, AI Assistant can now also help students prepare for interviews for internships and jobs by reviewing their resumes and providing feedback so they can move from the classroom to the working world with confidence. Student Spaces is available on the web and now also in the Acrobat Ready app for Android, offering a mobile study experience.
Coming soon, Adobe will also introduce new Acrobat Studio and Acrobat Express packages for students, which include the same tools professionals use to understand information, create and collaborate in the workplace.
