Bolt, Uber or Freenow – which app to start to pay less for a car travel? We check where there are better prices, availability of drivers and the most common promotions. The verdict is not clear here …
The time of calling for a taxi is gone forever – now we order a ride with one click. But which application should you choose? Uber, Bolt, or maybe Freenow? Each one has its pros and cons, but, what is funny, one thing is certain – loyalty does not pay. Promotions circulate in waves, once here, once there, so if you want to save, it is worth installing them all.
Bolt, Uber or Freenow – which transport is the best?
Only a few years ago Uber seemed to be the only option for fast and cheaper transport around the city. But the competition did not sleep – today we also have Bolt and Freenow, and prices can change by hour. Each of these applications has its own advantages, but one thing is certain: if you care about savings, it’s worth having all three and switching where the promotion is.
Prices – that is, who will delete you the least?
When it comes to prices, Bolt often falls best – especially in hours outside the peak. Uber, in turn, has more stable rates, but can charge the wallets dynamic price list when the city is corking. Freenow, depending on the city, can be cheaper, but … not always. It is worth checking prices in each app before ordering, because the differences can be significant – the same course can cost PLN 15 and 35 PLN.
Promotions and discount codes – the key to cheap journeys
This is a real kitty game and mouse. Promotions can appear and disappear -once Uber gives -50% for selected users, at other times Bolt throws the code for a free PLN 20. In turn, Freenow sometimes adds discounts for regular customers. If you want to pay less for journeys, it’s worth knowing where to look for discounts and how to use them as much as possible.
Where to find discount codes?
Promotions and discounts on journeys appear in different places, so it’s worth monitoring several sources:
- Carrier applications – Uber, Bolt and Freenow often send discount codes directly in Push notifications or the “Promotions” section in the application. Check regularly, because some discounts have a limited number of activations.
- Newsletters and emails -If you have e-mail notifications enabled, from time to time you can get a discount code or information about a special promotion. It is worth not to ignore this messages.
- Social media – Uber, Bolt and Freenow’s official profiles on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter (X) often publish temporary promotions.
- Loyalty programs – Freenow has a system of collecting points that can be exchanged for discounts. Uber and Bolt also sometimes offer discounts for active users.
- Groups on Facebook and Internet forums – There are communities in which users share current promotions, e.g. “promotion hunters” or “Pepper”.
- Pages with discount coupons – Services such as Pepper sometimes have working codes for transport applications.
- Banking promotions and payment cards – Some banks (e.g. Revolut, ING, Santander) offer cashback returns for Uber or Bolt. Check if your bank has a similar promotion.
- Friends’ commands – Uber and Bolt often offer codes for free journeys for new users, and Freenow allows you to get bonuses for the application. If you don’t have an account yet, it is worth registering with someone’s recommending code.
What is the best way to use the promotion?
The codes themselves are one thing, but it is worth skillfully managing them to actually save as much as possible:
- Use a change from various applications – If Uber has no discounts, it may be better to start Bolt or Freenow.
- Do not activate the codes prematurely – Some discounts are one -off, so it’s better to use them for a more expensive course. At the same time, it should be remembered that some promotions are limited in time, so it’s worth having it under control.
- Compare prices before ordering – If one carrier has a discount, but another has simply a lower rate, sometimes it is more profitable to go without a discount.
Which “taxi” application should you choose?
There is no one best answer. If you want to ride the cheapest – install all applications and see where the best price is. One conclusion is certain: loyalty in this case does not make sense. Only those who flexibly jump between these platforms really save.
