Huawei and Meliá Hotels International have presented the Smart Hotel Showcase, a pioneer initiative that promises to transform the hotel industry worldwide. This project, developed at the Melina Gran Meliá Tower, aims to accelerate the intelligent digital transformation of hotels, improving connectivity and networks infrastructure.
In a context where artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) are redefining the hotel sector, establishments are prioritizing intelligent services, guest -centered experiences, sustainable operations and efficient maintenance. The Information and Communication Technologies Infrastructure (ICT) has gone from being a support tool to become the main innovation engine in the sector. Intelligent billing systems, cloud -based management platforms and personalized AI services are some of the main transformation points that are expediting operations and promoting sustainability.
The joint presentation was attended by leading executives from both companies, including David Shi, vice president of the Marketing and Sales Department of Huawei ICT solutions; Tomeu Fiol, Global Hotel Technology Director of Meliá Hotels International; Chao Liu, CEO of the manufacturing business unit and large companies in Huawei; Vincent Liu, president of the Marketing and Sales Department of Huawei Global Business Networks; Jack He, General Director of Huawei Spain company; Ramón Vidal Castro, general director of Torre Melina Gran Meliá; and Diego Du, from the department of Huawei Spain Barcelona.

The Huawei Smart Hotel Solution combines the advantages of IP and Pol Technologies, highlighting in three key aspects:
- Perfect wi-fi coverage: Wireless access points (AP) with integrated smart antennas allow perfect Wi-Fi coverage in all the interior and exterior areas of the hotel, guaranteeing always fluid itinerance and a very high speed network experience.
- Ethernet cable replacement: Optical fibers replace traditional Ethernet cables, allowing each room to connect with a single fiber and a single terminal. This practice saves energy and facilitates sustainable development for the future.
- INNOVATIONS OF IA WITH IMASTER-BEN: Huawei’s Imaster-Ce, driven by AI models, offers automated root causes and other innovations.
