CGI has made a significant donation of nearly 200 computer equipment to educational centers and associations in Valencia. This initiative seeks to normalize the situation of hundreds of students affected by the DANA last October and promote the inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

The Federation of Teaching Centers of Valencia (FECEVAL) and Plena Inclusion Comunidad Valenciana will be in charge of coordinating the distribution of these resources. FECEVAL will focus on educational centers in the municipalities most affected by the floods, while Plena Inclusion Comunidad Valenciana will allocate the equipment to associations of people with intellectual disabilities.

CGI has donated a total of 177 laptops and 13 monitors, with the aim of helping educational centers that had to temporarily close and students whose training was interrupted. Furthermore, this action aims to reduce the digital divide in vulnerable groups that need access to technological resources.

Commitment to the Community

Alberto Anaya, General Director and Business Unit Leader of CGI for Spain, highlighted the importance of this initiative: «Support for our communities, inclusion and the promotion of technology among young people have always been priorities for CGI. Given the tragedy caused by DANA, we thought that one of the best ways to help students in the affected areas was to provide them with equipment that would allow them to resume their studies. We must not forget that a good part of the future of these areas rests on them.

Impact on Education and Inclusion

Mariola Hernández, Managing Director of FECEVAL, praised CGI’s commitment: “The commitment demonstrated by CGI is an inspiring example of how companies can make a real difference in critical moments. Thanks to business initiatives as supportive as this, we can offer students the necessary resources to continue with their academic training in such complex circumstances.

For his part, Vicen Castillo, Manager of Plena Inclusion Valencian Community, highlighted the positive impact of the donation: «The donation of computer equipment by CGI represents a significant boost for associations of people with intellectual disabilities, since it will allow them to improve “its technological resources, strengthen its capacity to promote inclusion and reduce the digital divide in especially vulnerable groups.”
