Epson has announced the launch of Epson Poskey, a new open platform, based on the cloud and compatible with web API, designed to improve the functionality and efficiency of its point of sale products (POS). As well as offer a range of exclusive services for company channel partners.

Epson Poskey introduces several key functionalities that optimize the performance and management of point of sale printers:

  • State supervision: It allows the remote collection of information about the state and printer conditions, facilitating the identification of problems and the implementation of corrective measures. This reduces the need for visits in situ and associated costs.
  • Remote configuration: The printer parameters can be configured remotely, allowing a use “send and forget” model where the printer recovers its configuration automatically when connected.
  • Firmware update: Facilitate the programming and deployment of firmware updates, maintaining the entire updated installation base with minimal user intervention.
  • Cloud print: It offers secure cloud -based print services for applications such as table orders, discount coupons and online orders.
  • Printing data collection: Surely supervises transactions data for analysis or services such as electronic receipts, with or without paper printing.

Availability

Initially, Epson Poskey will be available for Epson flagship point of sale, TM-T88VII and TM-M30iii.

The company plans to extend this functionality to a broader range of point of sale models in the future.
