LG Electronics will present its new vehicle security solution at CES 2025: The “Ambarella CV25 chipset”. This SoC with artificial intelligence allows precise recognition of objects and fluid processing of high-definition video, being ideal for various vehicle sensors, and stands out for its energy efficiency and capacity for real-time analysis of high-resolution video, coming from the vehicle’s cameras.
Manufactured with 10 nanometer technology, the CV25 offers detailed images even in low light conditions and high dynamic range, ensuring constant monitoring regardless of environmental conditions.
CV25 by Ambarella
«Our collaboration with Ambarella represents an important step forward in the use of AI-driven technology to improve vehicle safety. “Combining LG’s expertise in automotive interior monitoring with Ambarella’s innovative AI chipset sets a new standard and actively improves road safety,” said Eun Seok-hyun, President of LG Vehicle Solution.
During the CES 2025, LG will offer a demonstration of this driver monitoring system, “Ambarella CV25”, powered by the semiconductor company, which sets a new standard for precision and reliability
For his part, Fermi Wang, president and CEO of Ambarella, explains that the combination of LG solutions with the performance of Ambarella’s CVflow SoCs allows automakers to significantly improve vehicle safety. The CV25 SoC facilitates the integration of LG’s smart technology, achieving high efficiency with low power consumption and optimized thermal management, resulting in compact and flexible designs for vehicle interiors.
LG VisionWare for more precise monitoring and greater security
LG’s VisionWare technology, part of its AlphaWare suite of solutions, accurately detects driver movements such as eyes and head, using AI to identify distractions or drowsiness. The DMS equipped with the CV25 can recognize these signals and provide accurate analysis, even if the driver is wearing sunglasses or a hat.
LG’s DMS solution is designed to easily integrate into various software and hardware configurations, offering flexibility to automakers in the development of new models. This flexibility also applies to other LG solutions based on Ambarella technology, such as the Interior Monitoring System and the Driver and Interior Monitoring System.
In this way, the company is committed to continuing its collaboration with Ambarella to continually improve its mobility solutions and elevate the driving experience to new levels.
