Dassault Systèmes has joined forces with eleven companies in Europe to create the European Sovereign Technology Industry Alliance (ESTIA), an initiative aimed at promoting a sovereign digital future in Europe.

ESTIA seeks to offer a coordinated approach at European level that actively promotes the sovereignty of the European Union and the growth of European solutions in the areas of cloud, digital services and technology.

The founding partners of the alliance together with Dassault Systèmes are: A1 Digital, Airbus, Deutsche Telekom, evroc, OpenNebula Systems, Orange, OVHcloud, Post Luxembourg, Schwarz Digits, Sopra Steria and Telecom Italia.

Companies for European digital sovereignty

By becoming a co-founder of ESTIA, Dassault Systèmes – which has pioneered innovations in digital technology for more than 40 years – reaffirms its goal to become the leading sovereign and sustainable operator of trusted cloud services for enterprises. Its OUTSCALE brand is the first cloud to receive the highest security certification in Europe, making it a strategic partner for organizations and companies that need to comply with regulations in highly regulated sectors and the public sector, where the protection of sensitive data is a priority.

Ensuring trust, transparency and long-term resilience in the European cloud market is essential for citizens, the public sector and businesses. This is a prerequisite for Europe’s future competitiveness and security. However, Europe currently faces a strong dependence on external cloud technologies, which affects both public institutions and private companies.

ESTIA responds to the need to support and promote an EU technology sector that innovates and expands its competitiveness and independence. The founders of ESTIA have committed to working together with EU stakeholders to turn digital sovereignty ambitions into reality, creating a clear legal definition of the sovereign cloud and a strategic public procurement policy that drives the adoption of European sovereign cloud services by companies managing sensitive data.

The official launch of ESTIA will take place throughout 2026, with the active participation of institutions and companies that seek to strengthen European technological autonomy.
