In theory, everything seems simple – it is summer, it gets hot, so we come up with the idea: let’s buy a garden pool! A few clicks, quick delivery and … a surprise. It often turns out that this dream “piece of vacation” in his own garden can pour blood if we don’t choose it with your head. The size of the pool is just the beginning – what counts is the type of structure, filtration, place in the garden and a few other small things that can decide about the comfort of bathing. A type of swimming pools – not everyone is suitable for your garden
Let’s start from scratch – there are three main types of pools: inflatable, frame and expansion. Each of them has its own advantages, but also restrictions. Inflatable pool This is a classic for the youngest and those who want to quickly spread something “for a moment”. It does not require much space, but it is also the least durable. Expansion? A little higher league. The water itself “pushes” its structure, thanks to which it is stable, but still quite easy to install. It certainly works well for families with children. Frame – This is almost a serious matter. The metal skeleton and thicker walls make such a pool to serve us throughout the season and longer, but its distribution requires time, place and often the help of another person.
The size matters – but not only him
Let’s not fool ourselves – probably everyone would like to have a swimming pool in the garden, but reality quickly brings us to the ground. Such a convenience requires proper preparation as well as regular cleaning. At the beginning it is worth asking yourself a key question – How many places do you have? Remember that you need to add some space around the pool so that you can enter it freely, spread the towel or set the filter. Second – How many people will use it? Something smaller is enough for children, but if you are planning a summer party with friends, a small pool is a proven recipe for a garden flood. The third aspect is depth. Apparently obvious, but it is worth mentioning: a deeper swimming pool is more comfort for adults, but also greater requirements in terms of safety, cleaning and maintenance.
Place of assembly – sun, even ground and … neighbors
Before clicking “Buy now”, look around the garden. The pool cannot stand anywhere. The substrate must be even, preferably grassy or created using a protective mat. I would avoid places in the shade – cooler water is less fun. On the other hand, the full sun is a greater evaporation and faster heating of water (read: Algae likes it). Also pay attention to the proximity of trees – the leaves and insects in the pool are everyday reality. And one more thing: neighbors. If you are planning a loud splash until the evening, you should think about a little privacy.
Filtration – no move without it
This is one of those things that you sometimes forget … until the water gets green. The filtration system is an absolute basis if you want baths to be a pleasure, not a biological experiment. Most often you will meet cartouche pumps (cheaper but requiring frequent replacement of filters) and sandy (more expensive to start, but much more efficient and less troublesome). It is also worth thinking about additional accessories, like skimmers (that is, such surface “vacuum cleaners” for leaves) and chemicals – because even the best filter will not cope alone.
Accessories – which really is useful (and not necessarily)
Pool sets can tempt with additions: cover, mat, ladder, repair kit, leaf mesh, chemistry … Not everything is necessary, but without some elements or move. Many buyers only look at the price of the pool itself, forgetting about “hidden” costs. Pump, chemistry, accessories, water, electricity … It all collects. It is a good idea to set a total budget. Sometimes it is worth paying extra for a better set, so as not to buy everything separately. There is one more issue – ask yourself how many seasons you plan to use such a pool. If only one – there is nothing to overpay. However, if you dream of a home spa every summer, the investment in a more solid model will really pay off.
The garden pool is not a piece of furniture
Buying a garden pool is a bit like choosing a car – it is about it to drive (or in this case: to make it wet), but the devil is in the details. Size, type, filtration, accessories, place – everything counts. There is no one “best” pool – there is only the one that best suits your needs and conditions.
