SAP Spain and Altim have announced that Grupo Entrepinares, one of the main manufacturers of cheese and dairy products in Spain, has completed the migration of its business management platform to SAP S/4HANA with the aim of strengthening its capacity for sustainable growth and having a technological base prepared to face future business challenges.
Grupo Entrepinares is a leading family business in the Spanish agri-food sector, with more than 40 years of experience dedicated to the production of cheeses and dairy products. Since its inception, it has experienced sustained growth based on operational excellence, innovation and commitment to its clients, consolidating its presence both in the national market and in more than 50 countries around the world.
The company operates several production plants and manages a high volume of logistical, productive and financial processes on a daily basis. In this context, the availability of reliable information in real time, as well as the ability to maintain efficiency and traceability throughout the value chain, are key factors to sustain its competitiveness and guarantee the quality and safety of its products.
Strategic decision to simplify processes
Although Grupo Entrepinares had a high level of digitalization supported by SAP ECC as its corporate ERP, the evolution of the business required a more modern, flexible platform prepared to incorporate new technological capabilities. The migration to SAP S/4HANA was considered a strategic decision aimed at simplifying processes, reducing operational complexity and accelerating the adoption of new digital tools.
“We needed to take a step forward in our technological platform to remain competitive. The migration to SAP S/4HANA with Altim has allowed us to simplify, modernize and gain agility without putting our daily operations at risk,” says Rafael Guerrero, director of Infrastructure and Technology and CISO of Grupo Entrepinares.
To address this project, the company chose SAP S/4HANA for its real-time management capabilities, its innovation-ready architecture, and its lower dependence on custom developments. The solution also incorporates SAP Fiori as a new user experience layer, facilitating access to information from any device and improving user interaction with business processes.
The new platform also provides integrated analytical capabilities that allow access to indicators and dashboards in real time without the need for external BI tools, contributing to more agile and informed decision making. Likewise, it offers functionalities aimed at the intelligent automation of processes and the optimization of operations, aspects that are increasingly relevant in complex industrial environments.
Deployment of adapted SAP applications
The project included the complete conversion of the environment to SAP S/4HANA on HANA technology, the implementation of the Business Partner model through Customer Vendor Integration (CVI), the incorporation of SAP Treasury Management to optimize treasury management and the deployment of SAP Fiori applications adapted to different user profiles.
For all this, Grupo Entrepinares trusted Altim, a SAP Gold Partner technology consultancy with extensive experience in digital transformation projects in the agri-food sector. His knowledge of complex production environments and wide-ranging SAP migrations was decisive in ensuring a controlled transition and minimizing the impact on the company’s daily activity.

“Industrial organizations need technological platforms capable of evolving at the same pace as the business. SAP S/4HANA provides companies like Grupo Entrepinares with a solid foundation to improve operational efficiency, gain visibility over their processes and accelerate future innovation projects,” says Irene Sagre, Head of Corporate Spain, SAP.
For his part, Antonio Espejo, Altim Account Manager, highlights that “the close collaboration between the Grupo Entrepinares and Altim teams has been essential to successfully execute the project, guaranteeing operational continuity at all times and laying the foundations for future digital transformation initiatives.”
After the migration, Grupo Entrepinares has new capabilities for financial management and planning, including advanced forecasting and treasury control functionalities, as well as a more intuitive and accessible user experience. The new technological architecture will also allow future digitalization projects to be addressed more quickly and flexibly, supporting the company’s growth in the coming years.
