Zyxel Networks has announced the launch of the CX4800-56F, a new business level fiber switch that stands out for its high switching capacity, resilience against failures and a scalability designed for the current and future demands of network traffic. With this model, the company reinforces its positioning as a supplier of safe, intelligent and managed network solutions in the cloud.
The new equipment is designed to respond to the growing bandwidth requirements derived from emerging applications such as artificial intelligence, augmented reality or high -definition audiovisual transmission. Thanks to its 48 SFP28 ports and eight QSFP28 100G ascending links, the CX4800-56F allows you to reach a switching capacity of up to 4 terabits per second (4TBPS), which makes it an ideal option for medium enterprises, distributed data centers or service providers.

Compatible with both layer 2 and layer 3 functions, the switch can function as an aggregation equipment or as a network nucleus. In addition, its integration with Nebula, the Zyxel cloud management platform, facilitates the remote control of the entire infrastructure: access points, firewalls and switches, from a single interface.
In applications such as AV on IP (AVOIP), CX4800-56F also shows its versatility. Its specific mode for audiovisual networks allows rapid implementation and optimized performance, something essential for environments such as hospitals, where the transmission of medical images in 4K can make a difference in the accuracy of a diagnosis.
