SAP and NTT today announced their intention to work together in the areas of SAP Sovereign Cloud and SAP Business AI. The planned collaboration aims to bring together SAP’s business applications portfolio, SAP Sovereign Cloud and SAP Business AI capabilities with NTT’s global infrastructure, full-platform integrated operations, extensive industry AI expertise and global reach, to help customers benefit from cloud and AI innovation while maintaining control over sensitive data, operations, technology and security. The agreement reflects SAP and NTT’s shared ambition to drive a secure, resilient and sovereign digital transformation for regulated sectors.
Support for sovereign cloud requirements
As a first area of collaboration, SAP and NTT plan to work together to offer a broad set of sovereignty capabilities that combine the SAP Sovereign Cloud On-Site offering with NTT-managed infrastructure and operations for customers in key markets.
SAP Sovereign Cloud On-Site is SAP’s deployment modality aimed at customers with strict sovereignty, regulation and compliance requirements. It allows you to operate cloud solutions managed by SAP in a data center owned or selected by the client. In this way, organizations have a high degree of sovereignty in aspects such as local physical control, data residency and operational guarantees, while being able to respond to applicable local legal and regulatory requirements.
By combining the capabilities of SAP Sovereign Cloud with NTT’s global reach and experience in advising, designing, deploying and operating secure infrastructure, both companies aim to support customers in markets where a high degree of local control is required. These capabilities are designed to help public administrations, defense organizations, defense industry companies, critical infrastructure operators and other regulated organizations modernize their critical processes, while maintaining control over sensitive data and operations and responding to regulatory compliance requirements.
Exploring the value of AI
Building on this, SAP and NTT plan to explore new opportunities to help governments, critical infrastructure operators and highly regulated sectors modernize their critical processes and adopt AI in a safe, responsible and sovereign manner.
“With this collaboration, SAP and NTT aim to offer customers a practical path to innovation in the cloud and AI, while maintaining the control, governance and trust they need,” said Dominik Asam, member of the Board of Directors and CFO of SAP SE. “For public sector organizations and regulated sectors, sovereignty is not just a regulatory compliance requirement, but the foundation for resilience, competitiveness and responsible adoption of AI. Together, we want to help customers innovate while responding to their sovereignty requirements.”
