The Sarenet company has just announced two new tools that respond to the great challenges of today’s economy: the safe and responsible use of data, and environmental sustainability. Both DESPACE and HUCAÍN are especially aimed at SMEs seeking to advance their digital transformation based on accurate, secure and accessible data.

Both solutions reflect Sarenet’s R&D&i strategy, which focuses its efforts on developing advanced digital tools at the service of companies, strengthening intelligent data management and information security. The company thus reinforces its position as a benchmark in cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity and AI applied to business, accompanying its clients in the transition towards more digital, efficient and sustainable models.

Democratize access to data spaces

DESPACE allows companies to access and share data in a simple, secure way and without the need for custom developments. It acts as a “bridge” between organizations and information sources, eliminating the technical complexity common in creating custom connectors. Thanks to a visual and intuitive interface, any company can configure its access and start consuming data in real time, without depending on external providers or investing in its own infrastructure.

DESPACE acts in a way that facilitates the connection with ERP, CRM, IoT solutions or data analysis tools through integrators, incorporating advanced authentication and access control mechanisms based on standards. In addition, it allows you to consolidate and visualize historical data to facilitate strategic analysis and decision making.

All data storage and processing is carried out within Sarenet’s own data centers, under European regulations, reinforcing the sovereignty and confidentiality of the data. At the operational level, DESPACE has a visual interface that allows you to configure nodes, permissions and interconnected data flows.

According to Santiago Mercado, director of systems at Sarenet, “with DESPACE we want to democratize access to data spaces, allowing any company, no matter how small, to collaborate and benefit from secure and sovereign digital environments.”

Many platforms talk about interoperability, but in practice that translates into slow integrations, added costs or technical dependencies that are difficult to sustain. With DESPACE it’s different: data spaces are configured with reusable blocks, defined roles and connections ready to grow with you.

Measure and reduce carbon footprint

For its part, the HUCAÍN tool is an open and scalable industrial data space, designed to automate the measurement of the carbon footprint in the production chain and facilitate access to the Digital Product Passport (DPP), a requirement that will be mandatory in the EU in the coming years.

Calculating the carbon footprint of each product is not an easy task. It requires collecting information from many different sources: energy consumption, materials used, transportation, suppliers, internal processes. In essence, a real puzzle that, until now, was solved based on eternal spreadsheets, scattered data and a lot of wasted time.

To provide a solution, Sarenet has developed HUCAÍN. The platform allows you to integrate data from various sources – such as IoT sensors or business planning software (ERPs) -, processes it automatically with European standards such as FIWARE and Smart Data Models, and calculates the carbon footprint by product and process. In this way, it simplifies a procedure that today is complex, manual and difficult to audit, guaranteeing the traceability and reliability of environmental data.

The system works as a secure industrial data space, facilitating collaboration between companies without them losing control over their information. With an open and scalable model, HUCAÍN is positioned as a key tool to promote a more digital, transparent and sustainable industry.

Through an interactive dashboard, HUCAÍN offers real-time indicators that help companies identify critical points based on data and simulate emissions reduction scenarios, helping sustainability managers in decision-making.

“With HUCAÍN our goal is for any company to be able to measure and improve environmental management with real and precise data. It is a way to anticipate the European regulation that will require the Digital Product Passport,” adds Santiago Mercado.

As with DESPACE, the information managed by HUCAÍN is processed in Sarenet’s cloud infrastructure, guaranteeing the protection and confidentiality of corporate data. Thanks to its design and the absence of complex technical requirements, the platform is especially useful for industrial and service SMEs that want to incorporate sustainability into their daily management in an agile way and based on verified data.
