Securitas Direct, a company specialized in protection services for people, homes and small businesses, has renewed and expanded its IoT (Internet of Things) dedicated network contract with Cellnex for an additional five years, starting in 2026, for Spain and Portugal.

The company, which is part of Verisure, a leader in security services with professional monitoring in Europe and Latin America, has, thanks to this IoT network provided by Cellnex, a robust, parallel and exclusive infrastructure (its “ATN network”), which reinforces the resilience of the service. This technology incorporates “anti-jamming” capabilities, which guarantee the connectivity of your alarm systems, even if conventional networks fail or are blocked.

Following what was announced, the company is firmly committed to a network dedicated to the robust and resilient Internet of Things (IoT), which can guarantee the continuity of the service in the event of any unforeseen event, in addition to including ‘anti-inhibition’ capabilities. With the extension of the agreement, Securitas Direct will be able to reinforce connected security in Spain and Portugal.

Miquel Mir, Broadcast & Enterprise commercial director of Cellnex of Spain, highlights: “We are proud to put at the disposal of Securitas Direct our experience in network engineering, our telecommunications centers and our operational capacity to offer a critical and differential IoT service in the security sector.”

For his part, Bernardino Beotas, IT director of Verisure-Securitas Direct, states: “IoT technologies allow sensors, detectors and devices to send events in real time, consume very little energy and operate for years with a single battery. The use of this technology has grown exponentially, which is part of our constant commitment to innovation, which has defined our business model during the more than 30 years that we have been operating in Spain. Our commitment to the protection of people involves offering the “Better service and security for our customers, for which technology, and specifically IoT, is essential.”

Miguel Páramo, director of Indirect Procurement at Verisure-Securitas Direct, adds: “This agreement reinforces the long-term relationship with a strategic supplier for our company and consolidates our IoT strategy. In addition, it contributes to strengthening our contingency plans, ensuring that we have solid and reliable solutions in the event of any eventuality.”

Since 2019, Cellnex has been providing this IoT service, based on Unabiz’s Sigfox technology, making the necessary investments to guarantee wide geographic coverage and network availability.
