The continuous growth of the data, even in domestic environments and small -scale professionals, is promoting the demand for more versatile storage solutions. Synology, one of the leaders in NAS systems, has presented its latest proposal to cover this segment: the new DS725+, a 2 -bay device that reaches the market with the aim of combining compact, performance and expansion capacity.

Although the format is reduced, the company has designed this equipment with an architecture that allows to grow according to the user’s needs. Thanks to its compatibility with the DX517 expansion unit, the DS725+ can climb up to five additional bays and reach the 140 TB of gross capacity. In addition, it includes a 2.5GBE port for faster connectivity, added to another 1GBE RJ-45, which makes it especially attractive to environments that require efficiency without large infrastructure.

“The DS725+ offers users a compact and capable storage platform that can accommodate future growth in storage demands,” explains Marcos de Santiago, Business Unit Director South Europe in Synology. “This makes it an ideal option for the home, the office at home and edge environments.”

Beyond storage: a private cloud and a security center

One of the great attractions of this solution is in its operating system, Diskstation Manager (DSM), which considerably expands the functionalities beyond simple storage. With Synology Drive, for example, NAS becomes a private cloud with multiplatform access and synchronization between locations, while the Active Backup suite offers complete backup copies for operating systems, virtual machines and cloud services.

In more safety sensitive environments, Surveillance Station allows you to convert the DS725+ into a scalable video surveillance platform, with centralized management and real -time analysis.

Validated reliability and insured performance

One of the key points of the new DS725+ is its focus on long -term reliability. The equipment requires the use of hard drives validated by Synology for installation, as part of an optimized and tested ecosystem with more than 7,000 hours of tests. For users who want to use other manufacturers, there is the option to request independent validation under the same standards.

In addition, the device admits SSDS M.2 NVME, allowing cache or storage configurations all flash, opening the door to a higher performance even in this compact format.

AVAILABILITY DS725+

The device will be available from July 8, 2025 through the company’s authorized distributors and partners.
