The advancement of AI is generating a large number of job opportunities. In 2023, there were around 120,000 job offers in the technology sector, of which more than 24%, approximately 29,100, were related to data and AI, according to the report “The future of talent in Artificial Intelligence and Data – Dynamic Observatory of Technological Talent, 2024”, prepared by IndesIA in collaboration with Talent Hackers.

Despite high demand, the supply of data and AI professionals remains insufficient to fill all available vacancies. In 2023, approximately 5,000 job vacancies in this field remained unfilled due to a lack of qualified candidates, representing 17.36% of all vacancies in this field. In particular, 15% of job vacancies in data and 50% of vacancies in AI did not find candidates with the necessary skills.

According to Nuria Ávalos, general director of IndesIA, the lack of all these professionals represents a problem whose solution would lie in “accelerate our country’s ability to generate the technological talent we need, not only from scratch, but also by promoting the movement of staff within companies”.
