Just a few weeks before the event’s opening, the enerTIC platform held today at the Madrid International Lab, with the support of Madrid City Council, the official presentation of the Smart Energy Congress 2024. This 13th edition of the congress, which will take place on October 2 and 3 at IFEMA Madrid, will focus on the most innovative solutions aimed at companies and the public sector, with the aim of improving energy efficiency, sustainability and competitiveness, in line with current paradigms.
The presentation event was led by Mr. Ángel Niño, Councillor for Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the Madrid City Council; Mr. José Bayón López, General Director of the School of Industrial Organisation (EOI); and Mr. Evaristo Abril Domingo, representative of the Official College of Telecommunications Engineers (COIT). In addition, the presidents of the enerTIC Expert Committees addressed the main challenges and opportunities of the moment.
The active participation of Madrid City Council, both in the press conference and in the congress, underlines the institutional commitment to the Twin Transition. Public administrations play a crucial role, not only in its implementation towards sustainability, but also as referents and promoters of legislative frameworks that facilitate this change.
Antonio Ruíz Falcó, president of the committee on Disruptive Technologies in Data Centers, has focused on the extreme importance of modernizing the data center as an essential step to make Spain the reference in our environment: “The modernization of the infrastructures of the data society, in response to the adaptation to the new regulations, opens a unique opportunity to advance in Spain’s leadership as a major technological hub for southern Europe. Objectives as ambitious as those set by the Community of Madrid for the year 2030, add the necessary institutional support to the efforts carried out by this sector for years to become the paradigm of the CPD of the future.”
This is what the Smart Energy Congress 2024 will be like
Topics such as the adaptation of the energy sector to the 4Ds model, decarbonisation in the industrial and logistics sectors, the commitment of administrations to high sustainability standards, and the constant technological evolution towards a Green IT model were some of the topics highlighted during the presentation. All of this reinforces the fundamental values of enerTIC, which has promoted these principles since its creation.
This 13th edition of the Smart Energy Congress, which will take place on October 2 and 3 at IFEMA Madrid, will focus on the most innovative solutions aimed at companies and the public sector.
The importance of digitalisation and innovation as essential drivers for growth was also highlighted. The work and potential of Spanish companies was highlighted, together with the strong support of public institutions, to position Spain as a technological benchmark and a leader in the energy transition and decarbonisation. The country is moving firmly towards a leading role as a technological hub in southern Europe.
For his part, Claudio Fernández, president of the committee on disruptive IT infrastructures in the energy sector, highlights the key role played by technology in the modernisation of the sector: “The adoption of the 4Ds paradigm by the energy sector has driven exceptional growth in technology-based proposals to improve the efficiency of the entire energy cycle, from generation/obtainment to marketing, and the future is even more promising in this regard.”
