In addition to providing comprehensive analytics and intelligent automation, Veeam launches the Universal Hypervisor Integration API, a flexible platform with capabilities to integrate any hypervisor.

This new version represents an evolution in capabilities of the most reliable data platform in the sector. Trusted by more than 550,000 customers, Veeam Data Platform is a unified solution that delivers advanced data protection, AI-powered resiliency against ransomware, and recovery across physical, virtual, and cloud environments to ensure organizations’ data is always secure, available, and reliable.

Veeam Data Platform V13 is a revolutionary leap that helps organizations stay ahead of threats, eliminate lock-in, and keep data always available, recoverable, and ready for the workloads of the future.

Key innovations coming with Veeam Data Platform V13 include:

Recon Scanner 3.0

Powered by Coveware by Veeam, Recon Scanner 3.0 is now integrated directly into the Veeam Data Platform, redefining organizations’ real-time operational visibility into threats.

  • Flags suspicious threat behavior on monitored endpoints, including systematic attacks, suspicious file activity, and unexpected network connection capabilities.
  • Consolidated triage tray that centralizes all suspicious activity, offering prioritization by severity and detailed behavioral information for quick and effective management.
  • Seamless integration with Veeam ONE Threat Center to deliver real-time analysis and threat visualization on security dashboards.
  • Suppression rules and context-rich findings to help teams triage faster and reduce alert fatigue.
  • Integration with Microsoft Sentinel, which correlates Recon Scanner intelligence with broader threat signals for unified detection, investigation and response.
  • Collect comprehensive data from Veeam environments and map findings to the MITER ATT&CK framework for unprecedented threat context

Veeam AI-based malware analysis agent

Advanced AI-based analysis automatically detects, classifies and reports malware and suspicious activities, providing actionable insights and guided solutions to ensure recoveries are reliable and secure.

Best-in-class security, identity and access controls

Least privilege access and centralized authentication through SAML-based SSO reduce exposure and streamline secure access.

Immutable by default

Backups are immutable by default to align with anti-ransomware best practices and protect recovery points from unauthorized modifications.

Industry-leading security and ITSM integrations

Deep integrations with leading IT operations and security platforms, such as CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks, Splunk, and ServiceNow, unify detection, investigation, and response.

Veeam Data Platform V13 strengthens the capabilities of Veeam’s core foundation, delivering broad workload coverage and fast, flexible, and reliable load mobility; critical aspects for cloud adoption, cyberattack recovery, and AI-driven modernization. Key innovations include: Instant recovery in Microsoft Azure; and expanded hypervisor coverage.

Among the new features planned by the platform for 2026 are:

OpenShift Virtualization support

Native backup and recovery of host-based virtual machines for Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization, based on existing support through Veeam Kasten.

Universal Hypervisor Integration API

A first-of-its-kind integration framework that enables any hypervisor vendor to natively integrate with Veeam backup and recovery capabilities using a standardized API, ensuring customers’ environments are future-proofed as new virtualization technologies emerge.

Veeam Data Platform V13 extends Veeam’s commitment to simplicity, innovation, and cost-effectiveness by delivering high availability, modern management, and deployment flexibility without proprietary hardware devices or restricted architectures. In addition, it guarantees high availability. All this without dependence on hardware, offering significant savings compared to traditional competing devices. A modern web console is added with a browser-based user interface that simplifies configuration, reduces infrastructure requirements, and streamlines daily management for a more intuitive and modern experience.

“At Veeam, protecting our customers’ data is not just a promise, it is our goal,” said Anand Eswaran, CEO of Veeam Software. “With Veeam Data Platform V13, we are redefining the standard for data resilience. We provide organizations with the intelligence, automation, and flexibility they need to stay ahead of cyberattacks, eliminate blockage, and innovate without fear.
