Visa has taken the next step in the trade revolution with the announcement of Visa Intelligent Commerce, a solution that integrates artificial intelligence (AI) in the heart of the purchase process. From now on, IA attendees will be able to look for products, make personalized recommendations and execute payments with total security, always under the supervision and authorization of the consumer.
The solution was presented in San Francisco during the Visa Global Product Drop event, where the company revealed its collaboration with leaders of the technological ecosystem such as Anthropic, Microsoft, Mistral AI, Openai, Perpleplexity, Samsung and Stripe. The objective: to lay the bases of the future of the future promoted by AI, without compromising security or trust.
With more than 4.8 billion active visa credentials worldwide and 3.3 billion processed transactions in the last 25 years, Visa applies its global network and its technological infrastructure to a new paradigm where it will be the agents of AI who accompany the consumer in their purchase experience, from the search to the final payment.
According to Eduardo Prieto, general director of Visa in Spain, “Visa has traditionally used AI to combat fraud. Now it will also empower consumers, making trade more comfortable, personal and satisfactory. In any case of use of the applied to trade, the payment is the decisive element. If there is no payment, there is no trade. And that is where Visa contributes your experience and trust.”
Artificial intelligence applied to payment, with consumer control
Visa Intelligent Commerce opens to developers a set of APIs and tools designed to integrate safe payment capabilities into AI attendees. This solution allows:
- Tokenized cards prepared for ia that replace real data by digital credentials and verify that the assistant is authorized to operate on the name of the user. Only the consumer decides when and how to activate a payment credential
- Personalized recommendations They use, with user consent, basic information on purchase habits to refine suggestions and improve experience
- Safe payments that allow establishing spending limits and specific rules. Information is shared with real -time visa, which facilitates transactions control and resolution of possible disputes
The company takes a decisive step to integrate artificial intelligence into purchase experiences, with solutions that guarantee safety, control and personalization on a global scale
These functions are supported by consolidated technologies such as tokenization, authentication services or anti -brain systems that Visa has developed throughout decades. “This announcement marks a turning point for digital trade,” says Bea Larreg, SVP and regional visa director for southern Europe. “Visa has invested 11,000 million dollars in innovation and technology in the last five years, with a strong focus on artificial intelligence to benefit partners, shops and consumers.”
Beyond AI: new products, more capacities
In addition to Intelligent Commerce, Visa presented other relevant novelties during the event:
- Stablecoins and programmable money. In collaboration with Bridge (Stripe), Visa will facilitate the developers Fintech the possibility of issuing cards linked to Stablecoins through a single API. This solution is designed to climb payments in different countries with less friction
- Credential Flex. The reinvented visa card, which allows to alternate between credit, debit and “buy now, pay later”, is extended with new features such as rewards, investment or financing for SMEs. Visa and Klarna will launch this credential with “Buy now, pay later”, in the United States and Europe
- Visa Pay and Visa Accept. Visa Pay will connect any wallet with any trade that accepts visa, online or in store. It will be available in Beta phase in Asia, Europe and Latin America. VISA ACCEPT, meanwhile, will allow microcomcies to accept payments directly on their Smartphone with NFC, without the need for additional terminals. It will be launched this summer with selected partners in Latin America and Asia
With this set of innovations, Visa reaffirms its role as a key actor in the digital transformation of global trade, now also driven by artificial intelligence.
