Adobe has introduced the Adobe Productivity Agent, which brings together decades of Acrobat document intelligence into a single agent interface to transform the way people understand, create and share information. The agent coordinates tools and models to generate images, text and rich content, such as presentations, podcasts and social media posts, and powers conversational PDF editing in Acrobat. It also unlocks new sharing and publishing capabilities in PDF Spaces, an AI-powered workspace where you can combine files, links, and notes to research, gain insights, and create content.

The new productivity agent and its sharing functions are available in Acrobat Express, a new offering that combines AI document analysis, premium content generation and information sharing functions in one place; and in Acrobat Studio, which includes all the features of Acrobat Express along with AI PDF tools.

Adobe Productivity Agent is part of a broader agentic vision that is redefining the way people work. Designed to work seamlessly with Adobe Creative Agent and third-party agents, it works with documents, data, and systems to execute strategies and orchestrate results, freeing people to focus on the vision, judgment, and work that only they can do. Adobe’s creative agent is transforming the way people create; The productivity agent orchestrates everything so people can get information faster, generate quality content quickly, and share knowledge through interactive experiences. Together, they represent Adobe’s commitment to keeping people at the center of an agent-assisted future.

“Adobe’s productivity agent is redefining how people work with information,” said David Wadhwani, president of Adobe’s Creativity and Productivity business. “We’re combining decades of Acrobat document intelligence with agents to help people discover information faster, effortlessly generate visually engaging content, and share interactive experiences with personalized agents that convey their tone and intent.”

A new standard for sharing

Adobe invented the PDF format, which has shaped the way the world shares its most important information. Today, people open more than 400 billion PDF files and send more than 200 million of them in Acrobat each year. With Acrobat’s new publishing and sharing capabilities, the company is setting a new standard, transforming documents and files into interactive, personalized experiences that inform, engage, and drive action.

The productivity agent works in the background, generating titles, abstracts, and audio summaries from documents and links in a PDF Space. People sending files can add context, reorder files for emphasis, and customize the AI assistant for the sharing experience to answer questions, offer suggestions, and help recipients easily get the information they need.

This new format allows users to:

  • Create a custom space. Gather PDF files, documents, links and notes in one place. The agent quickly generates space, so the sender can focus on refining the experience with context, structure, emphasis, and media so recipients can focus on what matters most.
  • Customize an AI assistant for each case. Explain to the AI assistant what your goals are and who the recipients are. Share it along with the expertise to answer questions, offer suggestions, and help recipients get the information they need to make confident decisions.
  • Quickly update recipients with an audio summary. The agent automatically generates an audio summary of the information to help orient recipients before they dive into it. A fully editable script helps ensure the right message is conveyed every time.
  • Add your brand. Include a logo and color palette to create a professional, brand-aligned experience.
  • Follow up with confidence. The agent provides information about the interaction to help make follow-up timely and informed.

“We’re not just adding new features, we’re introducing a new format,” said Abhigyan Modi, senior vice president of Adobe Document Cloud. “For the first time, sharing documents means sharing an experience tailored to the intended audience, whether it’s a customer, a team, or a million subscribers. Now, each of those experiences can be as personalized and relevant as the work that went into creating it.”

Share with everyone you need

Leading publishers and creators are already using the shared experiences in PDF Spaces to build trust and greater connection with their audiences. VICE News, best known for its immersive on-the-ground reporting that addresses complex global issues in a real and authentic way, will leverage PDF Spaces in Acrobat for its on-the-ground reporting and cross-platform content, reaching more than 20 million followers. The new PDF Spaces capabilities allow VICE News to create interactive, browseable experiences that combine primary documents, research and supporting materials directly alongside published stories. Audiences can use an AI assistant to delve deeper into each story, explore sources, follow topics of interest, and connect more deeply with the reporting.

New sharing features open the door to new ways to interact with colleagues, managers, potential clients, or friends and family.
