HPE has launched the new HPE Compute Scale-up Server 3250, a server designed specifically for in-memory databases, designed to offer scalability, resiliency, performance and security for business-critical workloads, both transactional and analytical. This server is aimed at business environments that require the highest level of availability and processing capacity.
Powered by Intel This capability positions the server as a reference for advanced analysis environments and real-time data management.
“HPE Compute Scale-up Server 3250 raises the bar for business-critical infrastructure,” said Krista Satterthwaite, senior vice president and general manager, Compute, HPE. “Designed for complex enterprise applications like enterprise resource planning and customer relationship management systems, this server helps customers in ways that competing solutions can’t match, enabling them to execute faster transactions, get real-time insights, and support analytics without slowing down the business. With simpler operations, always-on reliability, and security from chip to cloud, we’re redefining scalability for workloads with zero tolerance for downtime.”
HPE’s first scale-up server
The new HPE server expands in a modular way to meet the increasing demands of real-time analysis and high-speed transactions. Available with a minimum of four sockets and up to a maximum of 16 – and with capacity for up to 64 TB of DDR5 memory – the server allows customers to run financial services applications, databases and logging systems with a high level of reliability.
By incorporating an external node controller, the server offers a performance increase that is 100 times faster than the Ethernet used in scale-out deployments. It is HPE’s first scale-up server powered by Intel Xeon 6 processors and features a modular architecture well suited for compute-intensive and emerging agentic AI workloads.
“Our collaboration with HPE continues to break ground in computational memory for mission-critical applications,” said Kevork Kechichian, executive vice president and general manager of Intel’s Data Center Group. “The HPE Compute Scale-up Server 3250, powered by Intel
Security and resilience at multiple levels
Integrated HPE Compute Scale-up Server 3250 server protection is available through HPE Integrated Lights Out (iLO) and spans all layers—from chip to cloud—as well as the entire server lifecycle. HPE iLO establishes a root of trust in silicon using a dedicated security processor and validated firmware, protecting the server against current and future threats, including post-quantum cryptography.
HPE Compute Scale-up Server 3250 server resiliency features include advanced memory error detection and correction, as well as memory recovery and deconfiguration. Additionally, the server is designed to deliver fault-tolerant uptime, ensuring maximum availability for business-critical workloads.
HPE Leadership in RISE with SAP Certified Servers
The HPE Compute Scale-up Server 3250 is the successor to the Intel-based HPE Scale-up Server 3200. HPE was recently named a leader in the “IDC MarketScape: Global SAP HANA Certified Server Appliance Vendor Assessment 2026” report. HPE’s long-standing collaboration with SAP and continued investment in engineering has positioned HPE as a leading provider of RISE with SAP certified servers.
