Corevia Advisory has carried out its official presentation as a boutique consultancy, an independent strategic advisory firm specialized in data centers and digital infrastructure in Iberia. Robert Assink, Armando Layna and Emilio Jaime Sánchez, creators and visible faces of this consultancy, presented the objectives and reason for this initiative.
“The data center market in Iberia is entering a phase in which decisions are no longer just technical or real estate, they are strategic decisions that combine energy, land, regulation, capital, artificial intelligence, connectivity and permits,” they explain.
According to the founders of the consultancy, more and more projects are announced that are not actually mature because they do not have all the essential pieces: end client or user, committed capital, guaranteed access to energy, secured land or a realistic schedule. This gap between what is announced and what is executable is, they warn, one of the biggest risks of the current moment in the sector.
Arrive with operational capacity
For the consultancy, the central problem is not the lack of opportunity – Iberia has favorable conditions such as its geographical position, connectivity, renewable energy, legal security and growing demand – but the lack of criteria to separate viable projects from those that never materialize.
One of the consulting firm’s central messages is that energy has become the main decision factor: the availability of renewable generation does not always imply effective connection capacity, and the terms of access to power determine the viability of investments. “Being able to arrive earlier with operational capacity can make the difference between capturing demand or losing an investment,” the partners highlight.
Advice, not intermediation
As a strategic consultancy, Corevia Advisory does not build or operate data centers, does not represent commercially or broker operations. Its role is in the previous layer of analysis and decision, with three lines of service: market intelligence on data centers; support for the entry and strategic positioning of national and international companies; and strategic evaluation of opportunities and investment both for public administrations and for the committees, councils and management teams of data center operators.
The consulting firm incorporates artificial intelligence and agents into its internal operations to accelerate analysis, without losing senior criteria as a central element of its value proposition.
Opportunities in Iberia
The consulting firm considers that Iberia has a relevant opportunity to attract new digital infrastructure projects linked to artificial intelligence, the cloud and new computing loads, combining large campuses with a new wave of smaller-scale centers.

In all cases, competitiveness will depend on the available energy, administrative deadlines, the maturity of the project and the ability to respond in time: precisely the variables in which this consulting firm wants to provide criteria and strategic support.
“Major decisions about digital infrastructure cannot be based only on headlines, generic maps or aggregated forecasts. They require local knowledge, understanding of the ecosystem and strategic criteria to reduce uncertainty and make the best decision regarding entry, investment, positioning and development of the project,” concludes the founding team of the consulting firm.
More than 200 years of combined experience
Corevia Advisory brings together more than 200 years of accumulated experience in data centers, energy, technology, business development and strategic advice. The consulting team is made up of:
Robert Assink, CEO of CTS, previously Managing Director of Interxion Spain and Digital Realty in Spain, and founding partner of SpainDC, has been a key figure in the positioning of Madrid as a digital hub in southern Europe.
Armando Layna Marco, founding partner of SpainDC and Digital Valley Spain, and managing partner of Sales For You Consulting, with projects totaling more than 2.2 billion euros of planned investment and 30,000 jobs.
Emilio Jaime Sánchez González, CEO of StrategyAI Enterprises and recognized in 2025 as one of the Top 50 CIOs in Spain, provides the perspective of applied AI and digital transformation.
This joint experience is, for the founders, the basis of the criteria they want to contribute to the market: knowing how to distinguish, with knowledge of the facts, which projects have a real path and which do not, an approach with which the consultancy aspires to become a reference for strategic decision-making in the sector.
