The Anaya publishing group, a benchmark in the Spanish-speaking world, will implement Workday HCM as a unified platform for managing its human capital. The company has chosen the Workday GO platform, the Workday solution designed for medium-sized companies to optimize people and financial management with an agile start-up and the ability to grow at the pace of the business.
Specifically, it is Workday Human Capital Management (HCM), through Workday GO, a solution that allows you to transform people management and move towards a more integrated, analytical and employee-centered model. Workday GO integrates AI capabilities into HR processes to drive more efficient management, with simplified implementation for midsize businesses.
Unified talent management
With more than 30 publishing labels and a solid presence in Spanish-speaking markets, Grupo Anaya publishes educational and cultural content with the purpose of accompanying people at every stage of their life. Until now, the organization did not have a unified system that would allow it to manage talent in an integrated way: people processes were supported by fragmented tools, with a low level of integration and limited analysis capacity, which hindered both decision making and the autonomy of team leaders and more effective talent management.
After carrying out a comparative evaluation of the main solutions on the market, the Group chose Workday for four key factors: the integration of all HR modules into a single platform for centralized management; the usability of the tool and the experience it generates for employees and managers; its functionalities, based on the best market practices; and its ability to exploit data to improve management and decision making.
Throughout the entire process, Workday will accompany the Group with a proven change management methodology, aimed at guaranteeing the best adoption and greater autonomy in the management of the platform.
“We needed to leave behind dispersed tools and poorly standardized processes to build truly professional people management. With Workday, teams will have access to updated and structured information, managers will gain autonomy in their day-to-day work, and People Management will be able to focus on what really matters: accompanying business growth with well-founded talent decisions,” says Pilar Guitián González, HR director at Grupo Anaya.
A basis for executing the strategy
Grupo Anaya conceives this project as a strategic enabler, not only as an operational improvement. In the short term, the adoption of Workday will make it possible to replace manual or poorly standardized processes, strengthen the management of people processes, reduce administrative burdens and improve the efficiency of People Management and the teams to which the solution will reach. In the medium term, visibility and traceability of talent data will allow the HR function to become a true strategic partner of the business, with the capacity to plan talent needs in alignment with the Group’s Strategic Plan and promote data-based management.

The implementation of Workday is framed at a time of profound transformation of Grupo Anaya’s operating model, in which human capital management becomes a critical factor to provide the organization with key structural capabilities such as planning, organization, performance management and talent development, which in turn enable the rest of the strategic initiatives.
“Grupo Anaya is an organization whose reason for being is to make knowledge reach more people. That they trust Workday to transform talent management is a responsibility that we assume with great pride. Our objective is that, while optimizing their processes and reducing the administrative burden, the people function becomes a true strategic driver within the Group,” highlights Adolfo Pellicer, VP & Country Manager of Workday in Iberia.
