Veeam Data Cloud customers can now understand which AI agents interact with their data and how, reduce storage costs, improve compliance, and perform accurate recovery across their Microsoft 365 environments; In addition, Veeam makes available two Private Previews of Veeam Intelligent ResOps for Veeam Data Platform and Okta.
The company announces the general availability (GA) of Veeam Intelligent ResOps for Microsoft 365, the first solution in the Veeam Intelligent ResOps (iResOps) portfolio to reach general availability (GA) and is offered as an add-on to Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365. Customers can connect Veeam iResOps for Microsoft 365 to Veeam Data Cloud in just a few clicks, without the need to migrate data or redesign the architecture.
In essence, the solution provides new visibility into the entire Microsoft 365 environment, allowing you to identify known and unknown AI agents, detect file changes made by AI, discover redundant, obsolete and trivial (ROT) data, and locate any sensitive and regulated data to validate its protection. With clear visibility into their Microsoft 365 data and AI environment, organizations can safely accelerate the use of AI, reduce storage costs, improve regulatory compliance, and accurately recover data. Veeam also announces the Private Preview Veeam iResOps for Veeam Data Platform and Okta, respectively.
Veeam iResOps brings together advanced contextual intelligence across workloads into a unified control center that simplifies visibility, controls, and day-to-day resiliency operations across your entire data environment. The solution continuously maps data, users, permissions, AI agents, activity, and protection status to provide useful contextual information across environments.
This helps customers understand what data they have, what data is most important, what risks exist and what information is protected, so they can act more quickly before, during and after an incident. For workloads already protected by Veeam, iResOps builds on the platforms customers currently rely on. Veeam today releases Private Preview versions of Veeam Intelligent ResOps for Veeam Data Platform and Okta.
“For twenty years, the question of resilience was simple: Can I recover the data? In the era of agentic AI, the question is whether you can precisely determine what has been affected, who or what has altered it, and how exactly to return to a reliable state,” says Anand Eswaran, CEO of Veeam. “Veeam Intelligent ResOps provides customers with both a recovery point and a recovery map. A recovery point shows you what you can restore. Instead, a recovery map tells you what to restore first, what has changed, and what you should not recover. You can only do this when contextual intelligence is connected to the data, identities, access and activity of the entire data environment. With Veeam iResOps for Microsoft 365, we combine the market-leading resilience foundation, in the already trusted by more than 26 million users, with Securiti AI’s advanced data security, governance and artificial intelligence capabilities to help customers adopt AI with greater confidence.”
Today, AI agents read, modify, and delete business data at machine speed, and most organizations can’t tell what they’re doing. According to the Veeam Data Trust & Resilience Report 2026, although 88% of organizations are already using or testing agents, only 7% can be considered truly AI-ready. More than 82% of companies currently have unknown AI agents operating in their IT environments, and 95% say data challenges have already slowed their AI progress. Resiliency teams must prepare not only for failures and attacks, but also for drift: data that becomes obsolete, is exposed to inappropriate models, or is inadvertently modified by authorized actors.
Veeam Intelligent ResOps for Microsoft 365 now available
Microsoft 365 houses an organization’s most important information, and more and more AI agents interact with it on an ongoing basis. Veeam iResOps for Microsoft 365 extends the capabilities of Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365 to the DataAI Command Graph, which links production data to backup context, enabling teams to:
Accelerate AI safely: Discover Copilot and AI agents in the environment, see what sensitive data each can access, and close any gaps from excessive information exposure. When an agent modifies or deletes the wrong files, teams can see what has changed, file by file, and accurately undo those changes.
Minimize the burden of regulatory compliance: Continuously detect and classify sensitive and regulated data in SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and Exchange, and check who and what can access it.
Reduce the scope of incidents and storage costs: Identifies redundant, obsolete and trivial (ROT) data and quarantines it while teams decide what to archive or delete, with full context that reduces both the scope of incidents and unnecessary storage costs.
Drive minimum viable recovery quickly: Confirm that business-critical data has been backed up, detect coverage gaps before an incident occurs, and know exactly where the data the business needs to recover first is located when an incident occurs.
Get answers in minutes, not weeks: Integrated agents allow authorized team members to ask plain-language questions about data, access, AI agents, and backup protection, which in turn informs policy improvements.
“As AI agents become increasingly integrated into business operations, organizations need greater visibility into how data is accessed, modified, and protected, as well as confidence that they can recover to a reliable state when something goes wrong. Our research shows that gaps remain in monitoring agent activity, reconstructing actions, and validating recovery. Veeam’s approach reflects the growing need to connect data intelligence and governance with resiliency operations, so “So organizations can embrace AI while maintaining control and confidence in their data,” said Krista Case, principal analyst at theCUBE Research.
“As we evaluate new AI technologies, it is increasingly important to be able to see how AI-related access interacts with our Microsoft 365 data,” says David Robinson, IT Systems Analyst at the Renfrew County Catholic District School Board and a participant in the Private Preview program. “Veeam Intelligent ResOps helps us identify these access patterns and check for unnecessary risks. This gives us more confidence to adopt AI responsibly, as we can better understand the context of the data behind it. The value to the business lies in knowing where a risk may exist before it impacts users, compliance or operations.”
“Customers don’t want a set of siled tools with conflicting sources of information. They want visibility, controls and resilience all in one place,” said Rehan Jalil, president of products and technology at Veeam. “Veeam iResOps brings contextual intelligence and accuracy to all the critical systems you depend on. You know what’s sensitive, what’s critical, and what an agent has been involved in. You protect exactly what needs to be protected, and you recover exactly what’s broken. Microsoft 365 is the first step. Today we’re extending that model to the Veeam Data Platform environments our customers manage and the identity systems that sit at the forefront.”
Extending Intelligent ResOps to Veeam Data Platform: Private Preview
For Veeam Data Platform customers, Veeam iResOps extends the protection offered by existing backup servers to a unified control view and connected data environment, without requiring changes to your current configuration. Existing servers connect to DataAI Command Platform in minutes, without the need to migrate data or make major architectural changes. DataAI Command Graph allows you to view protected infrastructure, workloads, and indexed files in a single console. Teams can perform global searches across protected and production data, identify an under-resourced server before it loses a restore point, and accurately recover infrastructure or files with full restore point context. The cloud-based console centrally manages role-based access control (RBAC), single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication (MFA) thanks to three integrated AI agents: the Dashboard Agent for information acquisition, the Graph Agent for exploration and the Backup Admin Agent for operational efficiency. iResOps for Veeam Data Platform accompanies Veeam Data Platform v13.2, which is scheduled for general availability (GA) in late Q4 2026.
Extending Intelligent ResOps to Okta: Private Preview
When an identity system stops working, the business is affected. All employees, applications, and pipelines rely on identity to function, and a single misconfiguration or malicious change can block access. Okta does not offer native point-in-time restore or version history, and only provides a 30-day soft delete period for users. Veeam iResOps for Okta provides organizations with the “undo” button they currently lack. Creates immutable restore points for users, groups, applications, policies, and administrator roles, spanning 29 object types, each verified as restorable against Okta’s live API. Teams can compare the current environment to a reliable reference state, down to the level of each individual property, understand what has changed and when, and then automatically restore not only the object, but also its relationships with others, including group memberships, application assignments, federation, and roles, in the correct sequence. This is precision resilience. Instead of manually rebuilding access or rolling back the entire tenant, teams only fix what went wrong. Employees can return to work within minutes, and all legitimate changes made since then remain intact. Offered as a fully managed service, iResOps for Okta extends Veeam’s identity resiliency capabilities already available for Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID.
Upcoming Private Previews in the fourth quarter of the year
Veeam plans to release Private Previews of Veeam Intelligent ResOps for GitHub and Azure DevOps in Q4 2026, extending protection and recovery to code, pipelines, configuration, and permissions. A Private Preview for Google IAM is also planned for select customers, expanding Veeam’s identity resilience coverage to leading identity platforms.
Veeam Intelligent ResOps for Microsoft 365 is now generally available as an add-on to Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365, in Foundation and Advanced editions, and also through Veeam Cloud & Service Providers (VCSPs)
