In a recent statement, Alberto Granados, Country General Manager and President of Microsoft Spain, has announced that after three and a half years in the position, he will take on new professional challenges within the Microsoft organization for the EMEA region (Europe, the Middle East and Africa). Granados expressed his gratitude and satisfaction for the time he has led the Spanish subsidiary, highlighting the achievements and growth achieved during his tenure.

Starting January 1, 2025, Paco Salcedo will take the reins as the new president of Microsoft Spain. With more than 25 years of experience in the ICT industry, Salcedo brings vast experience in digital service innovation, disruptive business models and growth strategies. His appointment promises to continue the path of success and expansion that has characterized the Spanish subsidiary in recent years.

During this period, Microsoft Spain has been awarded as the best Microsoft subsidiary in the world, for the first time in history, and we have grown as an organization, increasing our staff from 810 to more than 1,300 employees in the subsidiary,” highlights Granados.

One of Granados’ most notable achievements has been his contribution to the professional development of Microsoft Spain employees and the promotion of a diverse, inclusive, committed and professional organizational culture. During his management, the first Cloud Region was inaugurated in Madrid and plans were announced to develop a second Cloud Region in Aragon, with the aim of serving European customers. These investments in AI and Cloud infrastructure will not only drive innovation in Spain, but will also contribute to the creation of jobs in the IT industry.

Another significant milestone was the creation of the Artificial Intelligence R&D Laboratory in Barcelona, ​​a clear example of Microsoft’s commitment to attracting investments and promoting innovation in the country. Granados also highlighted the company’s efforts to promote digital training and employability, in order to reduce the digital talent gap and promote job creation.
