In 2025, it is already a tool that we use every day – for writing, programming, learning and even talk (yes, the movie Her is no longer fiction). Chatgpt from OpenAI still seems to be the most popular solution of this type. Only is it worth paying for the paid version Plus? We checked what a free variant can do and when it really pays to invest these $ 20 a month (with VAT it comes out less than PLN 100).

Free ChatgPT is currently on the GPT-4O Mini model. This is a simplified version of the GPT-4O, but still quite strong. Account registration costs nothing and you can immediately use a text chat – without connecting the card and additional hooks. What can he

Second – no reality internet access. If you want to know who won yesterday’s match or you are looking for current data on a topic, it is better to reach for Grok.
Third – No advanced functions. Free chatgpt will not generate graphics in Dall · E 3, you will not analyze data in Excel, you will not create your own “GPT podmodeli” with unique behavior. The free version of CHATGPT may also include interruptions in access to voice communication with the tool.
In my opinion, the free version of chatgpt is even more than a good demo. Only with more advanced needs should you think about a paid variant.

- Internet access -GPT-4O searches the network in real time, so it can provide current information from newspapers, blogs, reports. In this field, however, I still trust Grok more.
- Advanced tools – generating images in Dall · E 3 (the free version is limited to only 2 graphics a day, and sometimes does not work in this field at all), data analysis, creating your own GPT with a specific character.
- Priority access – Servers will not throw you with a lot of traffic, you also have earlier access to new products that Open AI successively introduces.
- Models for special tasks – O1-Review and O1-Mini, which are great at mathematics, code and complex analyzes.
Is it worth paying for chatgpt?
As usual, the answer is “it depends”. If you use chatgPT from time to time – to write an email, inquiries about the recipe or philosophical conversations that you would never have with friends – a free version is enough. However, if you use the tool every day and treat as a digital assistant, then the Plus variant can pay off. This is a particularly helpful solution, if you work in marketing, write a lot of texts, encode or analyze data. I think the best you can do is just buying chatgpt plus for one month. The subscription does not require a declaration that you will pay all year round, so testing paid subscriptions for 30 days seems to be a sensible move.
If you feel that $ 20 is too much, you can also check how the competition is doing. Grok, Claude, Jasper or Google Gemini also offer free and paid solutions and maybe they will work better in your case.
