Ferrovial has taken a strategic step in the optimization of its accounting and treasury processes through the implementation of the Apollo project, developed together with the Stratosys Technology. This initiative has allowed the company to integrate both areas into a single SAP platform, eliminating interfaces, reducing conciliation times by 40% and improving the reliability of the data.
The implantation of Apollo has been a significant improvement in the availability and traceability of accounting information, as well as in the automation of key processes. “With Apollo we have optimized key processes and improved anticipation in the availability of financial and accounting information, which has allowed us to substantially optimize the operational effectiveness of many of our processes through the unification of data and procedures,” says Mónica Moreno, Head of Finance Netherlands in Ferrovial.
From Stratosys, Pablo Meijide, Socio-Director of Construction & Real Estate, points out that “this project reflects how the integration of financial processes and treasurers into a single technological platform can significantly transform corporate efficiency, preparing Ferrovial for future innovations and challenges in the global market”.
Global, more connected and efficient treasury
Ferrovial already had an international vision of his treasury, but Apollo has meant a qualitative leap by allowing centralized management of 964 bank accounts in 14 different currencies, consolidating the data of 489 entities distributed in 28 countries, especially in key markets such as the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.
The company improves its operational efficiency and reinforces financial control by unifying accounting and treasury on a single SAP platform
More agile automation and closure
One of the most important achievements has been the 98% automation of bank extract processing, which has reduced operational errors and has considerably speed up the monthly accounting closure. This integration has allowed to eliminate barriers between financial and treasurers, facilitating greater traceability and control.
Progressive deployment and sectoral solutions
The implementation of the project was carried out progressively and without interrupting the daily operations, thanks to the expert accompaniment of Stratosys. The consultant contributed her knowledge of the sector to introduce specific improvements, such as the management of work accounts, essential in the field of construction.
Thanks to the automatic conciliation of more than 90% of internal movements, Ferrovial has significantly reduce manual load, reinforcing the efficiency of its processes worldwide.
