The way to the management of smart warehouses and the efficiency in the manufacturing chain is driven by the need to optimize resources and improve the competitiveness of companies. Parra talk about it, Byte Ti organized a meeting in Barcelona along with Getronics and Cenker Robotics that was attended by Carles FontDirector of Information and Communication Systems of Fundaciò Vidal I Barraquer; Iván Trueba, CEO of Cenker Robotics; Miquel Corral, Head of Telecomunications and Information Systems of the Barcelona City Council; Salvador MassipElectrostatic CEO; Isaac López, CEO of Lo-Al; Iñigo RodríguezSales Director Industry & Critical Infrastructures of Getronics; Ricard Alonso, CSA CIRSA CSO; Emilio Brau, ADI group CEO; Óscar Campos, Circuit cio; Enrique Riera, SALES ACCOUNT MANAGER IBERIA DE GTRONICS; Pablo GiancarleRegional It Manager – Air & Ocean by Rhenus Logistics; Roberto Martínez, Service Delivery Manager – Applications of Getronics; Joel Segovia, Cio cable cio; David Castelo, Managing Director of Cenker Robotics and Irina Espriu, Director of Economic Management and Security and Prevention Resources of the Barcelona City Council

The automation of smart warehouses has advanced very importantly in recent years, with the implementation of technologies such as autonomous robots, store management systems (WMS) and the Internet of Things (IoT). However, these advances also have important challenges, such as the integration of heterogeneous systems, staff training and adaptation to new regulations and security standards.
One of the main challenges in store automation is the need for a robust and flexible infrastructure that allows interoperability between different technologies and platforms. Automatic data capture through IoT sensors and devices is essential to improve production control, since it provides real -time information about the state of inventories, machines and material flow performance.

Likewise, digitalization and process automation are two fundamental elements to optimize the manufacturing chain. The implementation of ERP systems and integration with the store management system allow a more efficient management of resources. In addition, the use of data analysis and automatic learning technologies are facilitating the identification of patterns and trends, which contributes to continuous improvement and innovation in store management.
During the meeting, Iván Trueba, CEO of Cenker Robotics, explained that “Cenker is a company specialized in automation and logistics. We are specialized in store automation and throughout these years we have built many warehouses: there is not one equal to another. Our technology makes sense if it is linked to the company’s ICTs, hence our association with Getronics to give companies the greatest value. We are starting multiple intelligent and automatic warehouse projects in various countries of the world with special acceptance in the health world.
As Iñigo Rodríguez explained, Sales Director Industry & Critical Infrastructures of Getronics, “This relationship arises because Cenker is in full expansion and we want to have a long -term relationship with them. We try to solve the different market problems because to be an efficient company, coordinated processes and solutions are needed. If companies have automated processes, they can optimize processes and resources, reduce costs, improve decision -making and increase sales and increase product quality.
Getronics’s proposal

During the following minutes, Roberto Martínez, Service Delivery Manager – Applications of Getronics explained what the Getronics proposal consisted. As explained, “it is a 360 solution that integrates all levels of the ISA95 topology. We are aseptic and we integrate with any type of ERP, not just SAP. Previously to implement the solution, we see the customer’s situation and propose the tool that we believe is the most interesting. For example, we have not our own month system, but we have also implemented the month systems of other developers. ”
In this sense, Iván Trueba explained that “the store automation part has a lot of customization according to the needs that the client has. In a warehouse there are many concepts, but everything is reduced to one: merchandise-person ”.
The automation of smart warehouses has advanced very importantly in recent years, with the implementation of technologies such as autonomous robots, store management systems (WMS) and the Internet of Things (IoT)

In this context, Martínez breaks down the possibilities offered by the manufacturing solution System (month) of Getronics, emphasizing the transformation of the manufacturing industry in a context of growing automation and digitalization. As explained by the Getronics spokesman industrial companies face the urgent need to revitalize their offer and improve their competitiveness in an increasingly challenging environment. Operational efficacy is fundamental; For this, automation strategies are being implemented that entail a significant increase in productivity levels. This automation not only implies the use of advanced technology, but also an approach to the continuous training of employees to maintain competitiveness.
Getronics has a long history in the provision of industrial solutions, with more than 25 years of experience in the supply and management of OT and IT systems for the manufacturing sector. These solutions are aimed at improving visibility and control of operations, which translates into an increase in efficiency and provides a clear competitive advantage over other actors in the industry.
But when implementing a month solution, companies face different challenges. As Roberto Martínez explained, “the first one is the selection of a month package that can be a complicated process, since it involves critical decisions for the future of a company. Getronics encourages companies to consider solutions as they adapt to their specific needs. When developing personalized solutions, the value creation time can be improved and reduced costs associated with the acquisition of standard packages ”.

The advantages of Getronics’s proposal are numerous. First, its month allows effective integration of manufacturing technology and IT systems, optimizing production and facilitating real -time management. Martínez said that “the integration of existing sensors and the implementation of new technologies ensure that all the elements of the manufacturing process are connected, which is essential in a highly automated environment.”
But if there is a feature that stands out of the proposal, it is, as Iñigo Rodríguez, customization. “In Getronics we understand that each business is unique, so we offer personalized solutions that do not compromise the uniqueness of the client’s offer. With the use of internal accelerators for development, companies can obtain efficient solutions without the disadvantages of standard platforms that could not adjust to their requirements. ”

The challenges
Attendees showed a lot of interest in the proposition and agreed largely with the presentation of Getronics representatives. Thus Óscar Campos, CiRio de Circctor explained what its problem is: “We are going to very visible solutions such as a recharge point, panels, etc. We have two approaches to see which stores are susceptible to improvement and change. We design and industrialize. We would already like to have a 4 -storey warehouse, but customers buy smaller, so the automation of entries and outputs of finished product is our main challenge. ”
Pablo Giancarle, Regional It Manager – Air & Ocean by Rhenus Logistics, explained that “in Iberia we come delayed in automation, but in Germany we have advanced a lot. In our case we are very much to have the in-house systems. We try to make everything work in an integrated way and as fluid as possible. We consume in turn, the information provided by the third parties. Every day we will be more automated without a doubt “

For his part, Emilio Brau, CEO of Grupo Adi, said that “we are very interested in implementing automation processes. However, it is important for us to know the costs that implementations have and also what are the solutions and tools that must be taken. ” Given this, Iván Trueba said that “sometimes, the project key is to automate certain processes because it is not necessary to automate everything, but to look for a part to implement semi -automatic solutions that allow gaining effectiveness in the processes.” The advantage of Getronics, as Iñigo Rodríguez indicated, is that “we integrate with any application, but sometimes climbing or implementing another process on the system that the client already has can be more expensive. We can also address international projects. We cover more than 40 countries, so it is important to find a partner with solvency to implement the different solutions. ”
