SonicWall has introduced Cloud Secure Edge (CSE), a new Zero Trust access solution built specifically for managed service providers (MSPs). This suite offers cost-effective and scalable options for both remote access and internet connectivity, ensuring employees and external users can securely connect to resources from any device and location, with a level of simplicity and protection never before seen.
Built on years of experience in Security Service Edge (SSE) solutions targeting mid-market businesses, CSE is a multi-tenant cloud platform that is scalable for MSPs of all sizes. Customers will have the ability to choose from a variety of Secure Internet Access (SIA) and Secure Private Access (SPA) solutions, replacing traditional VPNs with cloud-based alternatives that provide network security at different levels and price points.
For organizations looking to integrate Zero Trust security with their firewalls, SonicWall is also adding a Private Connector to its next-generation firewalls (NGFWs). This will strengthen existing multi-layered security with a zero-trust-based architecture, making deployment easier and leveraging existing infrastructure.
“In today’s dynamic threat landscape, where remote work and cloud adoption are accelerating, organizations need a flexible security solution that can seamlessly protect users and data across any network environment,” said Tarun Desikan, executive vice president of Product Strategy at SonicWall.
While more traditional vendors offer complex SSE solutions geared toward large enterprises, CSE fills the gap experienced by SMBs by providing a simple, scalable ZTNA solution ideal for MSPs and their mid-market and SMB customers. “CSE adds to our existing remote access solutions, allowing SonicWall to help any business regardless of what stage they are in their cloud journey.”

Other key benefits for MSPs include:
- Firewall Connector: SonicWall customers can take advantage of CSE Connector integration into their next-generation (Gen7) firewalls starting with SonicOS 7.1.2, enabling ZTNA to their private applications hosted behind the firewall.
SonicWall combines Security Service Edge (SSE) solutions, acquired after the acquisition of Banyan earlier this year, with its expertise in network security for SMBs, creating a cloud-based ZTNA solution for MSPs
- Seamless integration: The addition of Cloud Secure Edge is designed to seamlessly integrate with MySonicWall. This ensures a smooth transition for MSPs, allowing them to take advantage of the new capabilities without disrupting their current operations.
- Remote access made easy: CSE Connector integration in SonicOS 7.1.2 enables employees to securely access authorized applications from anywhere, on any device, without having to deal with repetitive and complex VPN configurations and access policies.
- Monthly billing: The integration includes adding CSE to the Service Provider Program to offer no-obligation monthly billing that aligns with the way MSPs charge their clients, with flexible and cost-effective licensing levels.
- Regional compliance: The integration features a new CSE data center hosted in Frankfurt, Germany to facilitate data residency adoption and compliance with frameworks such as GDPR
- Multi-tenancy management for MSPs: Added multi-tenancy management, designed with MSPs and MSSPs in mind
