WatchGuard Technologies redefines the way MSPs deliver security services at scale with the launch of Rai. Introduced at the company’s Partner Impact Conference in EMEA, Rai is a new agentic AI-based digital workforce built specifically for MSPs, proactively performing cybersecurity tasks in their clients’ environments. This agentic AI makes it possible to automate advanced processes that previously required continuous human intervention.
Rai is a 24/7 agentic AI-powered digital assistant that operates as a true extension of the security team, detecting, correlating and responding to threats before human intervention is necessary. Continuously monitor environments, identify threats, and execute authorized actions in real time to reduce workload, accelerate response, and provide more comprehensive coverage to partners and customers. Thanks to agentic AI, every action is transparent, measurable and carried out by a single intelligence function.
Address compliance and operations environments
Agentic AI introduces a new type of workforce for MSPs: one that operates continuously, scales on demand, and frees teams from the operational burden that consumes valuable time. The Analyst role, based on agentic AI, is available today and offers permanent detection, investigation and response in endpoint and network activity, acting as first responder so that partners do not have to manage alerts 24/7/365.
Auditor and Administrator roles, also supported by agentic AI, will be available soon, expanding Rai’s capabilities into the areas of regulatory compliance and operations. The Auditor role will continually identify compliance gaps, flag misconfigurations, and resolve issues such as conflicts in firewall rules, while maintaining audit logs. The Administrator role will handle operational tasks such as patch scheduling, certificate rotation, maintenance windows, and partner communications.
By taking on the work that typically slows down teams, this agentic AI frees up engineers to focus on higher-value priorities, such as strengthening customer relationships, solving complex problems, and driving business growth.
“Cyber threats are increasing in both volume and complexity, and organizations need agentic AI designed to work continuously across customers,” said Ben Oster, vice president of Product Management at WatchGuard. “Rai transforms security operations from a reactive to a predictive approach, acting immediately to deliver more consistent protection. This agentic AI-based approach allows partners to scale faster, improve margins, and optimize the customer experience across their portfolio.”
Rai and its high level of integration
Rai’s decision-making process, supported by agentic AI, is fully visible through the new WatchGuard Insights Hub. Insights Hub includes centralized dashboards that provide context across your entire managed environment and the ability to go from general MSP views to detailed, customer-specific information with a single click. The integrated Daily Brief provides a concise summary of actions taken, items requiring attention, and protection status in real time across all managed environments. Controls are highly configurable to ensure partners maintain complete oversight while operating at speed and scale powered by agentic AI.
“What caught my attention from the first moment was how quickly everything came together in one place,” says Michael Ruffolo, Senior Cybersecurity Engineer and Analyst at eSecurity Solutions. “Instead of having to switch between different tools or recompose information, the experience facilitated by agentic AI allowed us to understand what was happening and what needed attention. That kind of clarity is what helps us make better decisions and provide more consistent service to customers.”
Rai’s agentic AI frees engineers to focus on higher-value priorities
Rai’s presentation at EMEA Impact 2026 marks a significant advancement in WatchGuard’s agentic AI strategy and reinforces its commitment to MSP success. By moving beyond assistive AI to autonomous execution based on agentic AI, Rai enables MSPs to expand coverage, reduce operational burden, and grow without increasing headcount. As agentic AI capabilities continue to expand across the platform, future enhancements will include a natural language-based, intent-driven interface that will allow partners to interact directly with Rai.
“This is a fundamental change in the way we approach cybersecurity,” explains Joe Smolarski, CEO of WatchGuard Technologies. “For too long, growth has been limited by people: how many analysts you can hire, train and retain. Rai, powered by agentic AI, changes that equation. It allows our partners to operate continuously, act instantly, and scale far beyond the limits of traditional security teams.”
