Smartphone, tablet, smart watch. The group of smart devices that we never part with has recently been joined by various accessories and even jewelry. Samsung has its own idea for a smart ring. The Galaxy Ring may turn out to be a hit.
Samsung officially presented its portfolio of intelligent self-care solutions at this year’s MWC, offering users an even more personalized and comfortable experience thanks to Galaxy AI available in an even wider range of devices. As part of this portfolio, the public was shown Galaxy Ringas a new health product that simplifies everyday wellness by supporting conscious self-care through the Samsung Health platform. The ring is designed to be a perfect and natural extension of the smartphone and watch, offering a more personalized experience. Equipped with a range of sensors (which we still don’t know much about), it provides advanced sleep tracking, heart rate monitoring, and a range of features related to physical activity and health – for example, it will allow you to track your fertile days.
Samsung Galaxy Ring. How much will you pay for the new gadget?
Although we still don’t know much about the Galaxy Ring, and Samsung is not very forthcoming about the new device, there are plenty of leaks online indicating how much we will have to pay for this ring. The latest information comes from social media, where Yogesh Brar posted an approximate price list for this gadget on X (formerly Twitter). According to his knowledge, it will cost in the range of between 300 and 350 dollars. That’s a price similar to what the competition currently offers. The third-generation Oura Ring is priced at $299 for the base Heritage model. The Horizon Ring is priced at $349.
And although the price seems relatively reasonable and close to what the competition offers, recent rumors indicate that this is not the end of the expenses that Galaxy Ring users will have to bear. The Korean giant is to introduce a special… subscription of about $10 (there are also signals that the fee will be slightly lower). What will be offered as part of the monthly subscription? This is not known at the moment, but looking at similar practices of the competition, some functions of the ring will be blocked.
For example, the holders of the above-mentioned
third generation, to unlock detailed sleep analysis, 24/7 heart rate tracking (day, night, training), integration with external health and wellness apps, advanced temperature monitoring, or blood oxygen (SpO2) measurement requires a fee of €5.99 per month (or €69.99 per year). Without a subscription, owners of this ring can only use a limited number of features: three daily Oura scores, the ring battery, basic profile information, app settings and Explore content.
How will it look in the case of the Galaxy Ring? We will find out when the company decides to officially confirm the premiere of the new gadget. Although we learned the first details about the ring a few months ago – both as part of the January Galaxy Unpacked and at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona, we still don’t know much about it. However, rumors have been circulating for a few weeks that the Galaxy Ring will debut this summer. Are you waiting?
