Spain is one of the countries that suffers the most cyber attacks. In this context, companies dedicated to cybersecurity have seen concern grow. And that is business. A business that operators do not want to miss. Telefónica, through Telefónica Tech, has made a big commitment to cybersecurity services… and now wants to enter the Orange market with Orange Cyberdefense.
The orange operator already provided a small part of these services, but with the creation of the company Orange Cyberdefense, the objective is to become one of the main players in the world of cyber in our country. To do this, the company’s directors believe that it will be enough to obtain between 1 and 5% market share between now and 2030.
The new company aimed at strengthening the digital security of companies, public administrations and, in a second phase, individual clients in the Spanish market. The initiative combines the European experience of Orange Cyberdefense with the capillarity, customer base and infrastructure of MasOrange, and plans to start with offices in Madrid and Barcelona and an initial team of 100 specialists.
The new company is presented as a cybersecurity provider with a strong local component, supported by a CyberSOC center in Spain that will offer continuous surveillance and rapid response to incidents. As stated by the top managers at the press conference to present the firm, the objective is to become a reference partner in advanced digital security for the Spanish business community and public.
Managed security
The offer will be articulated around DynamicSOC, a managed and modular security model based on MDR, with the ability to adapt to different levels of maturity and operational needs. The company also highlights that the solution will be compatible with technologies already existing in customer environments and will allow maintaining control and co-management over tools and data.
Orange Cyberdefense Spain will begin with teams in Madrid and Barcelona and contemplates an initial hiring of 100 cybersecurity experts, with room for growth. The company places this move within its international expansion strategy and the Orange group’s roadmap, which aims to reach 2,000 million euros in revenue by 2030.
