The company specialized in industrial baking, Pan Milagros, has evolved its technological platform to SAP S/4HANA with the aim of preparing its operations for a new stage of growth.

With a turnover close to 80 million euros and a staff of around 250 people, the company, which has more than a century of history, was facing a key moment in the evolution of its business: it needed a platform capable of accompanying its future growth, reinforcing fine traceability in a sector as demanding as the food industry and improving the capacity for analysis and decision-making in real time.

Pan Milagros had been a SAP ECC user since 2015, a solution that had provided robustness and stability for years, but was beginning to become limited in the face of new business needs. The evolution of the company required greater operational agility, access to real-time information, mobility and a technological architecture prepared to incorporate new capabilities in the future.

For this project, the company once again trusted Altim, responsible for the previous deployment and with which it had a consolidated relationship, for its extensive experience and knowledge in SAP, as well as its commitment to meeting deadlines.

Regarding the technological platform, it opted for SAP S/4HANA to maintain robustness, while having a more agile, scalable and future-ready environment. The project also included the SAP HANA database, which has significantly improved the speed of data and transaction processing, facilitating access to real-time information and faster and more efficient decision-making; as well as the SAP Fiori user experience layer, which has incorporated mobility, so that the management team can consult key information on production, manufacturing or stock from any device and thus react more quickly to any incident or operational need.

The migration has also reinforced batch traceability, a critical aspect in the food industry, and has contributed to automating processes, reducing operating costs, freeing up resources and improving the overall efficiency of the operation.

“The migration to SAP S/4HANA has been a key strategic step for Pan Milagros. Thanks to the collaboration with Altim and SAP, we have carried out this transformation fluidly, meeting deadlines and with minimal impact on the business. Today we have an advanced, scalable and secure solution that improves the efficiency of our processes and positions us with an advantage over the competition,” said Enrique García, general director of Pan Milagros.

For Irene Sagre, Head of Corporate Spain at SAP, It is a pride to accompany Spanish companies in their processes of evolution and growth. At SAP we work to provide organizations with a solid, flexible and future-ready technological foundation, which allows them to gain agility, drive innovation and confidently face the next challenges of their business.”

According to Antonio Espejo, Altim’s Account Manager, “the project was executed on time and in due form and was put into production in one weekend, with no impact on the company’s daily operations: the continuity of industrial activity was maintained, without incidents or interruptions being recorded, a particularly critical issue for a company with daily production in its different plants and which was possible thanks to the involvement of the management of Pan Milagros and Altim, working at all times as a single team and integrated in all its members.”

Now, Pan Milagros has the security of having a solid and scalable platform, prepared to accompany its growth in the coming years, and facilitate the incorporation of new technologies as business needs evolve.
